WHY I DID 3 COLLABORATIVE BOOKS
BEFORE WRITING MY OWN
As I look back on the beginning of my journey to becoming a bestselling author, I knew I had a message to share but I didn't know where to begin. I was approached to do a collaborative book, and I immediately said YES, because I knew this was the fastest way for me to get published and get get my message out to the world. It was also the most economical way, since it cost only $4-5000 per book. I collaborated in two more books before I published my first book.
At the time I was participating in these anthologies, I was also writing my own book. All told, it took five editors, a writer's retreat, a weekend workshop, and $30,000 to publish my book.
I don't regret any of those investments in my own book, though I can say that it was through the collaborative books that I became a bestselling author. I would never have gotten to be a bestselling author as quickly and easily without those collaborations with other fantastic authors.

THERE IS POWER IN NUMBERS
For most of my life, I've felt called to be a voice in the wilderness, a voice crying out against a world ripe with anguish and sorrow. And to what end? I felt so strongly that I must work to protect others, to shelter others from the storm.
In that process, I realized how many beautiful souls felt stymied from sharing their messages, so for many years I abandoned my own message in order to help them share theirs.
